David Deibler--Glass
|
I began my journey with glass in the spring of 2001 at a small public acess studio in Philladelphia. After looking into a furnace full of hot, molten glass for the first time, I was mesmerized. Although i thoroughly enjoyed blowing glass I had no idea it would become my future career. After graduating High School I left my small little town in Central Pennsylvania to pursue a college degree at RIT in Rochester NY. While attending there I had the opportunity to Study at the Scoula Del Vetro in Murano, Italy. To date it has been one of the biggest influences on my work. I work with several different types of glasses. This is because each glass has different working properties that are inherent to the glass because of its chemical composition. I try to use these subtle differences in material to my advantage as an artist. This allows me to create unique and beautiful forms otherwise not possible. |
