Joshua Derner

Illustrator & Fine Artist

Growing up in Vermont, Joshua developed an appreciation for the beauty of the land that surrounded him. Attending the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York served both to hone his artistic skills and deepen his admiration for his native state. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration, he returned to Vermont where he began showing his work locally. Through the years, he has won several awards, including "Best in Show" in the June Juried Exhibit at the Bryan Memorial Gallery in 2002. Drawing inspiration from hiking the Green Mountains, he continues to capture his love of nature on both paper and canvas. He uses many mediums, including pastel, colored pencil, watercolor, acrylics, oils and pen and ink. His subject matter includes wildlife, landscapes, still life and fantasy. Joshua enjoys sharing his artwork and aspires to continue creating pieces that will touch others.
